Day 30 Karbach – Saint Goar
Karbach – Saint Goar
27 October 2018
Yesterday it was good that I made camp early , because around 7 it started to rain. This morning it was very foggy, so my whole tent was soaked when I packed it.
It wasn’t warm last night, so I was happy to be on the move again.
Because I was high up in the hills I had a good look over the hills and the river.
I took a shortcut, but eventually the road transformed into this road and I had to take a diversion.
Then I met this little fellow with his yellow eyes, all alone.
From here the way was only going down to Saint Gaor. When I was walking along the asphalt road, a man gave me a ride and dropped me off at the jeugdherberg. It was closed for construction so I went to the main street of the town. It was completely deserted. Luckily, the pizzaria was open. While I was eating I received a message from Morgan, who told me that I was welcome at his place. He lives in Saint Goarhouse. Which is on the other side of the Rhine. I finished my pizza and went to the ferry. On the ferry I talked to the conductor and some other men. They asked me where I was going, so I told them. One of the men said something wich I did not understand. The conductor translated for me that the man was bringing me to my host. I put my bag in the trunk and took a seat. The car was already loaded with three people excluded me and the driver. They literally dropped me off at the front door. Morgan has a small but cozy room on the top floor of the shed. To reach his room, we used a cute elivator.
