Day 28 Koblenz – Bad Salzig
Koblenz – Bad Salzig
25 October 2018
Today I went to the ‘Hausarzt’ (general practitioner) to get my last travel vaccination. FSME ( Früh Sommer Meningo Encephalitis) this is a brain infection. It is transmitted through
ticks.
The doctor’s assistant and the doctor were very friendly and interested in my journey. They also told me something about their travels. I left light-hearted.
I went back to my host to get my stuff and say goodbye. Here is Nasr with my backpack on his back.
Then I left for Boppard, meanwhile it turned out that my host was living in the next village: Bad Salzig, which is like a 1.5 to 2 hours further walk.
The walk was higher up the hills so I had a beter look at the river.
On the other side of the Rhine there was another castle
I met this friendly cow.
On the hills there were grape plantages, like really a lot. The farmer had dumped the pulp that was left after making grape juice on the hills. The smell wasn’t pretty.
This is Boppard at night.
Because it was much further than I anticipated, I took the train from Boppard to Bad Salzig. Otherwise it would have been 10 or 11 p.m. before I arrived.
