Wesseling – Bonn

When I woke up I didn’t had a host for tonight, so I sent a few messages, made tea and packed my bag. Pretty quick I had a response wich made me happy.

On the foto below you can see that the water level in the Rhine is very low. It makes it easy to camp on the river banks but it is bad for the environment, shipping (scheepvaart), and for the drinking water supply in the Netherlands.

As I was walking to Bonn I met a friendly girl, who has experience with long distance walking (Rome, compostella). She told me about her trips and we walked a few kilometers together. She wanted to invite me for tea, but she had an appointment so she could not. She did point me to a small Cafe which was very welcome because I needed to go to the toilet. At the Cafe I took a piece of pie on the go.
I walked high above the river weil eating the pie.

After a while the road was straight and not really interesting. At Ariel in Bonn my host was singing in the garden with friends and she invited me to join. So I sang along and afterwards we had a meal.
