Day 112 Esztergom – Pilisszentlélek

Day 112 Esztergom – Pilisszentlélek

16 January 2019
Esztergom – Pilisszentlélek

From now I can add a map with the route I took. I am totally happy that this works now. I have to give Pijke, a friend of mine, credit for it.

Today is also the day that I started to honour my favicon, but more about that later. For people who don’t know what a favicon is. It is the little icon that you see on top of my site.

Here you see my new cool lila USB cable that I bought in Schwechat, it is so long and it makes me happy. I’ve wanted to share it for a while.

Edit & loly made breakfast and lunch for me and then we ate together. Edit gave me some snacks for on the way. I stuffed everything in my bag and left. They even gave me some money. 🙂

I went to the city center and there I picked up up the Sultan trail. This went up into the Pilis Mountains.
At one of the last houses of Esztergom I hit a dead end.

There was a gate and I could not go around without trust passing. So I had to make a big detour going down hill.

When I was on the right way this dog was looking at me if I were something very strange.

The road kept going up hill almost nonstop and became more icey and snowy.

Here I got back on the Sultan trail.

Here the trail went up hill with an angle of 40°. This was very challenging but when I reached the view point on top of the hill also quite satisfying.

There I took an new image for the header of my blog.

Then it went down hill into a valley. But first some limbo dancing and some sliding

In the bottom of the valley next to a small stream I cut down a small tree and uses it as walking stick. It took a while and then I started to honour my favicon. As the man with a walking stick. However I do feel sorry for the tree.

The road became more challenging because the track is not used al lot I think.

Meanwhile I listened to the travel stories of Olivier B Bommen & Tom Poes

My walking stick was a great help up hill but also down hill. The road down pendulate alot.

In Pilisszentlélek I ringed the doorbell of a gast house. First they didn’t open but when I ringed a second time they did. And they said that the house was closed due to winter so I asked if I could pitch my tent in their garden. Then they offerd me to bring me to Esztergom for a Hotel but I said that I just came from there. And then they changed their minds and I could stay. I was glad for that. They had to turn on the gass, electric and water because they closed it all for winter.
They were friendly and gave me dinner. And I talked with one of the three daughters who is studying Korean culture.
