Day 108 Komarno – Moča

Day 108 Komarno – Moča

12 January 2019
Komarno – Moča

This is Eugen and his wife where I stayed this night. During breakfast we had an conversation and he asked where I would sleep tonight. I was not able to find a place. He texted an old colleague of him and gave her my contact details. when I was putting on my shoes is saw that the blister had filled itself overnight. I had treated it yesterday but now I had to do it again :/

When I was leaving Komarno I did some sightseeing. I also came by the bridge that would cross the border whit Hungary but I resisted the urge, I would add almost 3 km to just step foot on the other side.

Some more statues of people who apparently did something great in their life according to others.

I passed by a tourist office and there was a computer mounted in the wall. But the track ball was defect so there was a loose mouse attached it looked quite funny.

Part of the old city wall. I wanted to visit the ford of Komárom (that is the same town only on the other side of the river. It used to be one but due to history the city is now divided in two and it also has two names.

This is an old ugly communistic building, the second photo is also a communistic building but then renovated. I think I looks much nicer.

As I was walking east out of town I met a woman with her kid and she wanted something of me. mony but I only had some food with me. So I offered chocolate and then she became mad at me that I did not give anything. So I gave the chocolate to the kid and he didn’t appreciated it much but way more than his mother. Then I walked away and the women started screaming at my. Stupid lady.

Then I turned right and there were this electrical lines and one of them was hanging down. So I went around it with a big bend because I did not wanted to be electrocuted. A bit scary.

Then I had another encounter with a Gypsy, I just said hi to a guy and then he didn’t wanted to leave me alone. Very annoying.

Start the sound and then read on.

I walked to a village and I was greeted by a choir of dogs, one started and then it went on and on. This is how it goes in many villages.

This is some archaeological site, I think it is roman.

in the distance a whole herd of deer that crossed the dyke.

Here I took a break:

Meanwhile the colleague of Eugen (Emi) had texted me that I was welcome at her house in Moča. Still had to go many kilometers.

Along the Donau there is an extensive network of measuring systems for surveillance water and ground water. Here you see one of the scales to measure surface water levels.

The sun set in the west.

Still Moča wasn’t there and my shoulder, especially my left, started to hurt again really badly. so I texted Emi that I could take a while before I would get to her place. Then she offered to meet me in Radvaň nad Dunajom (Radvaň at the Donau).

then i finaly arived in Radvaň nad Dunajom. they had nice chrismas light attecht to the lamppost

Emi invited me to a pension for dinner. She said I should try catfish with pasta. It was good food.
Then we drove the last kilometers to her house. I had almost the whole house for myself. She had been renovating her house so everything in the house was brand new. She had made sure that I had everything what I could ask for was in place.
