Day 104 Bratislava – Ňárad
8 January 2019
Bratislava – Ňárad
My Breakfast of this morning:
When I was packing my bag I had trouble to get everything in, because my mother sent me so much food it just physically did not fit.
Because I went to Wien to collect my mail, I could not do the first trip from Bratislava along the Donau (to my regret). So I took the buss to the first next town (Čunovo) in my planning. or I thought so. But I selected the wrong cell in my spreadsheet and that was Gabčíkovo, which was two days further.
In Bratislava I took the trolleybus.
Then I waited on the regional bus and with help of a Slovakia men I took the right buss. Then I showed the town name where I wanted to go to, but the bus driver was saying all stuff in Slowakei to me. It was about my backpack. So I thought that it maybe had to go in the cargo space, but that wasn’t it. Then suddenly I got this ticked. Apparently I had a ride for free. Made me very happy.
It was a long ride of one and a half hours to Gabčíkovo. When I arrived there (late afternoon), I went to a local cafe to look closely on the map and to fix my rain trousers. There were to holes in it, a big one and a small one. I was disappointed that my nice rain trousers already was damaged. But I managed to fix them. To make the distant for tomorrow smaller, I started walking to the Donau and then south east. Then I suddenly needed to go to the toilet urgently, but there was none around of course. So I just went in the snow.
The road was so long and totally straight. And about 10 km of the Donau. Behind me I could see the light of the locks. I found out that I had missed the locks and ‘power island’ sadly. I think I would have been very interested. This is the trip between Čunovo and Gabčíkovo.
Warning if you cannot handle the sight of blood stop reading here.
My goal for today was reaching the next Village. But my bag was so heavy that I did not. And I decided to knock on the first door of the houses in another village. This worked to my surprise. It was a pension. I was really happy that I could sleep inside because it was raining and the weather NOS still showed a nasty northern wind.
The pension was run by Hungarians and they just shot a swine. The man gave me some locally produced food and drinks. Then he went with his sons to the garden to butcher the swine.
I had never seen this before, so it was interesting to me.
And this is how it looked the next day.
Then I went to my room, it was so big and I had my own bathroom so I jumped into the bath and lay down and listen to music. I fell asleep xd so when I woke up I moved to the bed and continued to sleep.
