Day 31 Saint Goar – Bacharach
Saint Goar – Bacharach
28 October 2018
At breakfast with Morgan and his family, his mother sharply mentioned that as of today I’m one month on the way. We had an interesting conversation and one of the things I found out was why a lot of living rooms are on the first floor. Because when the Rhine has a lot of water in it, the ground floor floods often.
His mother dropped me off at the ferry. There I continued where I stopped the previous day.
The next pictures are of the Lorely.
This is Oberwesel.
Oberwesel is an old city with walls and a watchtower. At the end of the town you could climb the walls of the city, I didn’t think twice and went up the stairs of the wall and towers.
From the wall you could enter the white/red chapel.
This old building has it’s own clock and it had a fine bell sound.
This is one of the newer watchtowers.
After Oberwesel I continued along the Rhine over the line path which formed a tunnel of trees.
The rocks of the riverbed are different here, there are more flat or layered.
